Over a thousand days of full-scale invasion, Ukraine has endured incredible tragedies and losses. On this solemn date, November 19, the Educational and Scientific Medical Institute (NNMU) honored the defenders who gave their lives for the freedom of the people and the territorial integrity of the state.
The administration of NNMU, together with the student directorate, laid flowers at the “Alley of Glory” memorial dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the 155th Battalion and the TRO “Basy.” The Alley is located on the territory of the Medical Institute and was inaugurated on October 1, 2024, as a symbol of eternal respect for the fallen warriors.
The event was also attended by the abbot of the Church of Archangel Michael, Archimandrite Adrian.
“Is 1,000 days a lot or a little? It is already a lot! First and foremost, I want to express gratitude to our defenders who are protecting our country and to those who, unfortunately, are no longer with us—those who gave their lives for us. It is very important to preserve their memory, to create memorials and Alleys of Glory, to pause and honor them with a national moment of silence. Society must remember thanks to whom we live our lives and at what cost we gain our independence,” emphasized Archimandrite Adrian.
NNMU Director Andriy Loboda highlighted the significant contribution of the institute and university to the joint struggle for Ukraine’s independence:
“Our university also contributes to our shared victory through volunteer work, public engagement, and initiatives to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are fighting for our right to determine our path of development, for our right to live in a democratic society.”
1,000 days of full-scale war is a reminder of our strength, resilience, and faith in victory. The struggle continues, and thus, each of us must make our contribution to bring closer the long-awaited victory and peace.
