Annually, on October 20th, the World and Ukrainian Breast Cancer Awareness Day is observed. To raise awareness among students about this disease, and on the initiative of the extracurricular sector of NNMI, an online presentation competition of scientific works on “Breast Cancer” was held on October 17th.
Each participant received a separate topic, for which they prepared a presentation and report. A total of 8 students participated, namely: Viktoria Pohorila (group MC.m-905) – “Breast Cancer Prevention,” Daria Prykhodko (group MC.m-310) – “Symptoms and Types,” Dmytro Vasylenko (group MC.m-304) – “Treatment and Diagnosis,” Yuliya Shalaieva (group MC.m-310) – “Risks and Causes,” Alina Zahliada (group MC.m-306) – “Types of Cancer,” Kateryna Babych (group MC.m-306) – “Stages of Cancer,” Bohdana Vysotska (group MC.m-304) and Viktoria Shuhayova (group MM.m-406) – “Breast Reconstruction Methods after Surgical Treatment.”
The participants were evaluated by three jury members: Lecturer of the Department of Oncology and Radiology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor – Yuliya Moskalenko, Deputy Director of NNMI for Extracurricular Activities – Yuliya Chudayeva, and Deputy Student Director for Scientific Work – Vladyslava Yanishvska.
Considering the high level of preparation of the scientific reports, the decision to determine the winners was difficult. The prizes were distributed as follows: 1st place – Daria Prykhodko, 2nd place – Dmytro Vasylenko, and 3rd place – Viktoria Shuhayova.
