On August 31, with the support of the director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena SHAPOVALOVA, an online meeting was held between Sumy State University rector Vasyl KARPUSHA and representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The meeting was attended by: the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, H. E. Amb. Gabriel ADUDA, Director of Policy Planning, Research and Statistics Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Ambassador Janet OLISA, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Ukraine Shina Fatai ALEGE, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education David Adejo ANDREW, representatives of the Ministry of Health of Nigeria.
The participants discussed further prospects for the education of Nigerian citizens at Sumy State University, academic mobility in partner institutions of higher education during the aggression of the russian federation in Ukraine, issues of planning and organization of the educational process.
Attention was also focused on the possibilities and features of the organization of medical practice by foreign students of Sumy State University in foreign health care institutions.
Currently, 1,874 foreign students from more than 50 countries of the world are studying at Sumy State University, 381 of them are citizens of Nigeria.
